A face emerges from shadow. A reflection turns a familiar scene into an abstraction. A streetlamp casts an unexpected glow. Light shapes not only what we see in a photograph, but what we feel.

Photo Artfolio invites photographers worldwide to submit work for Lightvisions, an online exhibition exploring the expressive and transformative possibilities of light. Returning to the theme of our very first exhibition, we’re looking for fresh perspectives on photography’s most essential element.

From dramatic contrasts to delicate illumination, we seek photographs in which light plays an essential role. Show us how you use it to create atmosphere, evoke emotion, suggest a story, or reveal something extraordinary in the everyday.

All photographic genres and approaches are welcome, including documentary, portraiture, street, landscape, nature, architecture, still life, conceptual, fine art, and experimental photography. Both color and black-and-white images are encouraged.

Awards

All accepted photographs will be featured in Photo Artfolio’s online exhibition.

• Second Place: $350

Important Dates

Entry Fee

• $20 for the first image

• $5 for each additional image

• Up to 20 images may be submitted

• Entry fees are non-refundable and do not guarantee acceptance

Eligibility

Open to photographers worldwide. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to apply.

Image Requirements

• JPEG format only

• Minimum 1,200 pixels on the longest side

• Maximum file size: 5 MB

• All work must be original and created and owned by the submitting photographer

• AI-generated imagery is not eligible for consideration

Jurying and Notification

All submissions will be reviewed by Creative Director Julia Cumes and an anonymous committee of jurors. Notification of results will be sent via email on February 3rd, 2027, to the address associated with your CaFÉ account. If you do not receive your notification, please check your spam folder.

Selections are final. Due to the volume of submissions, individual feedback cannot be provided.

Sales & Rights

Photographers retain full copyright to their work.

All sales inquiries will be directed to the photographer’s website, and photographers receive 100% of any resulting sales.

By submitting work, photographers grant Photo Artfolio permission to display accepted images on its website, social media channels, and promotional materials related to the exhibition. Photographers will be credited whenever feasible. Images will not be used for any other purpose without the photographer’s permission.

Entries are submitted through CaFÉ (Call for Entry). Create a free account at www.callforentry.org, upload your images, and submit them to Lightvisions.
